our Community Training & Volunteer Service Initiative
At Top of Descent Leadership Institute, we believe that leadership doesn’t end with earning a certification — it truly begins with service. That’s why we proudly host free community-based training events at NAS Jacksonville and across surrounding colleges and institutions throughout the Southeast region.
These events are designed to empower transitioning service members, students, and underserved communities by providing practical, real-world skills in Lean Six Sigma, project management, digital tools, aviation leadership, and career development. Through free workshops, mentorship sessions, and professional development training, we create lasting impact — on and off the base.
We actively encourage our certified professionals, instructors, and alumni to support this mission by volunteering to lead sessions, mentor participants, and share their expertise. Not only does this strengthen our community, but it also qualifies as official volunteer service toward the Presidential Volunteer Service Award (PVSA).
We are proud to share that Top of Descent Leadership Institute is officially authorized to issue the PVSA — one of the highest honors for volunteerism in the United States — recognizing individuals who demonstrate outstanding commitment to service and leadership.
